Job: Retired from BT after 30 years and now self-employed.
First experience of Lock-On was when I bought Flanker 2, then Flaming-Cliffs, and then joined the 159th. Flown SW since then (of which I’m now CO). Through squad attrition, I find myself as Squad CO.
My favourite flight-sims are; MiG-Alley, 1942 Pacific air war and DCS. I think DCS has to be my favourite as it’s still as much fun now as ever.
Currently I am CO of the squad, and dealing with us now flying western AC as well as the good-old Russian ones.
In Real Life, the most excitement I get is from racing Formula-Ford single-seater cars.

| Born in God's Own Country (Yorkshire) somewhere in the misty past (more commonly refered to as the late '60's). I've been interested in flight since early childhood, having grown up with stories about my Grandfather's time as a pilot in the Royal Flying Corps in the last years of the First World War (one of my most prized possessions is still his training manual, commision into the RAF in 1918 and the photos he took at the time). My father and uncle were also in the RAF in the '50's and I would have followed them if we hadn't emigrated to South Africa when I was a teenager. The closest I got was time spent in the ATC!!
My first flight sim was one of the early MS Flight Simulator releases, later followed by CFS and then IL-2, which I spent many happy hours flying over the course of a few years. I got hold of LOMAC at it's original release date and joined the then fairly newly formed 159th shortly afterwards..... And I've been here ever since!!
It's been a brilliant experience to date, watching the squad grow and develop into what we have today, and being lucky enough to have been able to have a hand in that development. Even though my chances to get online flying time have been severely limited in the past couple of years for various reasons, being involved with the development of the squad, and the great characters we have been lucky enough to have here has been fantastic. I can't wait to see where the squad goes in the future. |

| An introduction to PC gaming in 2005 with IL-2 Sturmovik kindled a passion for flight which was not easily sated. A whim saw me googling 'Fast-Jet Sims' one day and I stumbled onto a title 'LockOn Modern Air Combat'. Mastering the fundamentals of the SU-25T saw me ready for Operational Deployment with the 159th Strike Wing in 2006. Currently serving in the Attack Helicopter Wing. Highlight of my Flight Sim Hobby to date has definitely got to be my affiliation to the 159th Guards Aviation Regiment –
an Outstanding collection of Individuals who collectively strive and succeed to Foster a camaraderie that lies unequalled, both in the Virtual Skies and the Sukhoi Arms -

| During the 1980's I was drawn into Flight Sims through various consol games for the Amiga
and Early PCs. It wasn't until the arrival of LockOn and the Flamming Cliffs add on, that I got interested in
flying online. Dec 06 I approached the 159th to get info on what was required
to join a squad. I took my checkflight in Mid Jan 07. Having past this I started my
flight training and soon became proficent in the system of the Su 33 / 27.
Highlights have been representing the 159th at Red Flag and has been a fantastic experience. The 159th has a great mixture of humour,
support and dedication when in the air.

| I flew "sims" ever since my father bought our first Radio Shack Tandy computer when I was about 10 or so. I can't recal the name but it was a red wire-framed jet. After springing for a "state of the art" computer about 8 years ago, I found the 159th after owning LOMAC for about 10 hours and applied. After a few years of FW flying in the trusted Su-33, DCS Black Shark was released and I haven't looked back since (more buttons to press). I'm currently on the West Coast of Canada serving in the Canadian military. Have greatly enjoyed meeting and flying with everyone of the 159th and looking forward to a few more years! |

After a very long hiatus from simming (7-8 yrs), I picked up BS in early 2010 and have been flying it (and loving every minute of it!) ever since. |

| Picked my first flight sim at a relatively late age but had fallen in love with aviation from my youngest memories.
I have been flying Lockon for just over 3 years now, all of those 3 years being spent with the 159th. Being the Fight Wing CO I have the job of keeping our aircraft air-worthy and it's pilots trained and happy. A job I love, made easy by all the members of the 159th who are, very much like family.
For me, the best thing about Lockon and the new DCS is the 159th. Enjoying a great hobby with great friends makes the experience uniquely rewarding, fun and challenging all at the same time and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I look forward to seeing you all in the air soon. |

| Born and raised in Friesland, The Netherlands, where I still live and work today. I was terrified of those awful F16's until around the time I could talk. Somehow this terror transformed into a passion later in life, and I now love everything that has a large engine or produces lots of noise. I waited for a long time for Lock-On to be released, and when it was, I immediately got into it. I was asked to join the 159th early on and it has been my online family for many years now. Real life issues and perhaps a bit of Lock-On boredom made me go M.I.A. for about a year, but now I'm back, with renewed energy! See you in the skies! |

| Been about the block a few time's - Had a dabble at most things, though pimping and porn film making are still on my todo list! Been tinkering with the binaries since the early Z80 days - though I was a Sharp MZ80 devotee. It was whilst doing a SE degree in Glasgow, that I started simming - firstly the Silent Hunter series and Longbow, then Flanker. Which I recall getting the 1.4 floppy demo from a gaming mag - and without stick or proper graphics acceleration flew for hours and hours around Sevastopol - the limit of the demo. I was hooked! Found and joined the 159th soon after the release of Lomac and have enjoyed my time here. After many years flying the 33 as part of FW, I now find my self with the honour of helping to form and lead the new Attack Helicopter Wing, comprising of the not so fast Ka50. Im looking forward to seeing all the DCS promises delivered - It should be an awesome experience. Heres hoping! Salute! |

| Hello, I'm 24 years old.
I have been Simming since I was 8 yrs old (CFS 1, CFS2, IL2 Sturmovik and others).
Flying model aircraft since I was 11, bought first model at age of 10.
Nowadays working hard like any and all of you. (i hope...)
Promoted to SW XO in August 2011 and mainly flying the Su-25A at the time.

| My enthusiasm for aircraft began (like most growing up in the 80’s) from the movie Top Gun. I never met my aspirations to become a fighter pilot, but I served for a short time as a CH-53 Flight Line Mechanic in the US Marines. My first taste of flight simulations was F-15 Strike Eagle II and Chuck Yeager’s Air Combat. I joined the 159th in 2006 and quickly became enthralled with the multiplayer element of Lock-On. Taking examples from other squadrons and the idea of inter-squad matchups, I started LOCERF as a way to bring the community together and encourage teamwork. I continue to support the community as lead admin for the 159th Dedicated and building multiplayer DCS missions. |

| I am a retired US Marine, having served both as an enlisted man and an officer. I was an aircraft maintenance officer by trade, directing the maintenance effort of Marine Corps aviation assets throughout my career, both rotory and fixed wing. I have never joined a clan or a Squadron in all my years of online gaming... mostly because I haven't found one that truly recreated combined arms and tactics and had members that actually worked as a team... that is until now.

| It's all "Top Gun"s fault. That's likely what my parents will tell you. Aviation has been a fascination of mine since I was young enough to push play on the VCR and wear a spaghetti pan for a flight helmet. My first flight sim was Jets, followed shortly there after by Super VGA Harrier and on wards to Jane's AH-64 and F-15. When I was 15 I decided to try my hand at it for real, starting my private pilot training and receiving my private pilots certificate shortly after my 17th birth day. Then in 2008, while still completing my degree, I figured it was time to shoot for my dreams, and entered the Officer program for the United States Marine Corps. After two grueling summers in Quantico Virginia, I graduated Officer Candidate School and received my commission in 2011. I now stand at the beginning of a grand adventure as a Student Naval Aviator. In the mean time, I serve the 159th as a Fighter Wing flight leader and Squadron Ball Adjuster. Remember, if you're not on deck every time, you just need to let me teach you how to adjust your balls. |

I was playing single player for less than a year and just managing to take off and land, when I joined the 159th Fighter Wing. Today, with help from the mates here, I can take off, land, do carrier ops,use the various weapons and navigation systems, etc. I feel I have come a long way in the flight sim world since joining the 159th. I am presently involved with the ka-50 training program. The mates are patient and understanding teachers. My hobbies include woodworking, fly-fishing, hiking, camping and of course, flight sims . My Motto, Die Tryin!

| I like beer. I chase women and love flying. I am a qualified fixed-wing pilot, with burgeoning desires for a rotary license but not the burgeoning desire to part with that much cash.... and fly Black Shark just for fun.
I don’t get to spend as much time as I’d like in the air because of a hectic travel schedule with work. I can normally be found drinking my way around the globe…
When I'm not gallivanting around the world providing long-winded statements of alcohol induced amusement to my peers I enjoy bashing people with sticks (also known as Kendo) and as an amateur herpetologist I am starting a small leopard gecko breeding project.

| "I'm a 48 year old Flight sim fanatic living in Robin Hood country (Nottinghamshire) in the UK.
I'm 22 years married with no children, but two demanding Parrots hence the Flight handle of Parrotman (also suitable pirate connotations)
My first sim was on the ZX81 black and white PC which had 16k ram and a 48x24 pixel screen (how's that for blobbies!).
This was in the early 80's and since then I have owned every Microsoft flight sim, and pretty near all combat sims.
My hard drive currently has on it LOFC, BS, Falcon4AF, FSX & IL2, but I nowadays I only get a few hours a week to indulge in
my flying fantasy, so LOFC and BS take 100% of my flying time.
I originally joined the pirates in Sept 2005, but dropped out for a couple of years due personal illness and part time studies.
However just because I've been around a few years does not make me a good flyer, I'm still pants!
RW flying experience involves several introduction flights in Cessnas, a session in a Tiger Moth, an acrobatic session in a Harvard, and
a +6G, -4G 'Top Gun' blast in a Red Bull two seat racer!
My other interest is astronomy, I am a practising amateur astronomer with a BSc in Astrophysics, and a computerised telescope.

The first flight sim I played through completion was F-19 on the Commodore 64. Since then, my favourite flight sims have been F-117 (F-19 2.0), F-16 Combat Pilot, Apache, Falcon 4.0, Jane's F/A-18, Flanker 2.5 (ED), and now DCS World (ED). |

I’ve been bitten by the Flight Simming bug since my first ‘puter ... the mighty Apple ][+ screaming with 48k of RAM and a 12” Green Phosphor Monitor (it still works!!!). I haven’t looked back.....an Apple ][ C the AMIGA and finally the PC. I think I have flown them all. I’ve been flying IL2 since its inception. BS and Flaming Cliffs as well. I’ve come around to thoroughly enjoy the Flying Fat Frog, warts and all! (they need some luvin too) I’m looking forward to contributing to the 159th. See you in the virtual skies.

| "Hailing from New Delhi, India, and growing up watching aircrafts on television, reading about them in encyclopaedias, military tactics (good old libraries!), and even comics, I have loved combat aircrafts ever since I was a kid. Played a lot of flight games as a kid, most of them arcade-ish. Started my simulation life with Apache Havoc & Jane's USAF, I immediately fell in love with the feeling & bliss of flight, even when being painted by SAMs. Played Flanker 2, loved it, enjoyed IL2 and then upgraded to Lock On: Modern Air Combat when it came out. Been with the series ever since. A software tester in the real world, I spend much of my weekend on the PC and the night in the virtual skies.
